As the business end of the season approaches, so almost every game assumes some significance at the top or the bottom. Arsenal and Man City both play away on Saturday and both will be expected to win. Liverpool also visit Man U, who apparently have to learn to win, on Sunday. Each of those three will be hoping for a slip-up from the others. At the bottom, Everton and Burnley engage in a huge six-pointer, while Luton will hope to put Bournemouth to the sword and boost their survival chances. Forest have a tough assignment at Spurs. As for us, we could find ourselves ending the weekend in sixth place, if we beat Wolves convincingly and Man U get a good thumping from Liverpool. On the other hand...

The championship is a mental league,absolute bear pitch at both ends of the table. Think Wednesday may just survive whilst fuck knows who finishes getting promoted automatically, any 2 from Leeds, Ipswich or Leicester.
Champions league could give us an all English semi final in one half of the draw and all Spanish on the other side. Highly unlikely but not impossible.

Only saw bits of the two games last night but you have to think the winner is in the other half of the draw
More specifically whoever gets through Real v Man City
Everyone stumbling in the Championship, Leicester (88pts , 5 games left) lose at Millwall & Ipswich (88, 4 left) & Leeds (87, 4 left) both draw.
Brings Southampton (78 , 6 left) back in
Tight at the bottom but Sheff Wed & Birmingham in the bottom 3 so could be heading to Division 3 (THREE)

Yeah, that was the point I was trying (badly) to make earlier. Elliott's was no more of a foul than Saka's - they were both a form of cheating.
The pundits make it worse with the absolute bollocks they talk. I've heard "he invited contact" being given as a reason for both a penalty and no penalty. It's endemic now... no way is that genie going back in the bottle

Saka's favourite routine is to cut inside and curl it with his left, never seen him go on the outside. Knowing this is what he does, the very best defenders have a better chance of stopping him.

Every week in the Premier League you see penalties given for exactly that - the striker deliberately running his foot into the keeper or defender's leg, then falling over. It's not a defensive misdemeanor, it's deliberate cheating and every time the ref falls for it. We've seen it so often that nobody complains. 'You can't make contact these days,' people say. That's bollocks, of course you can make contact. Or 'It's naive play from [keeper's name]'. No it's not, it''s a deliberate attempt to deceive by the alleged victim.
You're right, this kind of shit does have to be wiped out.

I think it’s obvious that Sake deliberately ran into Neuer to win a penalty. He kicks the ball to the side then launches himself at Neuer’s leg. Similar to what Elliott did the other day. The fact that opinion seems divided makes me despair at the modern game. This kind of shit needs to be wiped out by punishing the cheats but it won’t.

Re Kane, he did have his elbow high but not swinging. I put that down to breaking for impacting / protecting the ball. It was against Gabriel too who imo is a pretend tough guy. Can’t stand him, lots of snide fouls and then screams when things go against him.
Saliba is a twat too. Would like to have seen Saka carded for the dive and then sent off for complaining.

I'd defend Kane and say he was bracing himself for contact from behind and it wasnt a major swing of the point of the elbow into the head.
